Consultation with the Oita Chamber of Commerce & Industry President

Charge d`Affaires, Ms. Kelera Savu, on Friday, 1 July 2022, convened a consultation with Oita Chamber of Commerce & Industry President, Mr. Eiji Nakashima, at the Fiji Embassy in Tokyo. The consultation generated meaningful discussions on prospects of the business, education, and people-to-people exchanges between Fiji and Oita.

New Ambassador of the Republic of Palau to Japan

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Palau to Tokyo, HE Mr. Peter Adelbai, presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty The Emperor Naruhito, Emperor of Japan, on Tuesday, 7 June 2022. He is a former Minister Counsellor for the Embassy of the Republic of Palau in Tokyo, and former Ambassador of the Republic of Palau to the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 2012 to 2013. Ambassador Adelbai, 62, is married and has 2 children.

Funabashi Rotary District 2790 Rotarians Visit the Fiji Embassy

Funabashi Rotary District 2790 Rotarians visited the Fiji Embassy in Tokyo on Wednesday, 29 June 2022. The primary purpose of the visit is to pay courtesies to the Charge d`Affaires, Ms. Kelera Savu, and discuss some of the recent projects that the Rotary Club wishes to exchange with Fiji Rotarians. The Rotarians were also provided with a brief overview of activities pursued at the Embassy, particularly key areas targeted by the Fiji Mission in Japan.

Reception for the French National Team – Les Blues

Charge d’Affaires Kelera Savu today attended a Reception for the French National Team – Les Bleus, hosted at the French Ambassador’s Residence. The French National Team tours Japan as part of the Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2022. They will play against Japan in Aichi on Saturday 2 July, as well as in Tokyo on Saturday, 9 July 2022.

Charge d’Affaires Savu meets with Fiji students

Charge d’Affaires Kelera Savu met with the 3 (three) Fijian students who had just completed their quarantine and were on their way to Oita to study at Oita Tomei High School. The 3 students, namely Mr. Iliesa Senibitu and Mr. Iosefa Qalovi are sponsored by the Oita Tomei HS rugby scholarship, while Mr. Simione Vavaloa is sponsored through the tuition appeal drive manned by Fiji`s Honorary Consul in Hokkaido. CDA Savu encouraged and wished the students the best in their studies.

RFMF Delegation in Tokyo

Charge d’Affaires Kelera Savu received a call from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Medical Delegation led by Lieutenant-Colonel Aseri Rokoura on Sunday, 26 June 2022. The RFMF officials are in Tokyo under the Japan Ministry of Defense’s invitation. CDA Kelera Savu thanked the RFMF officials for their courteousness and wished them well in their short stay in Japan.

Charge d`Affaires Savu pays courtesy call on Akita Prefecture Governor

The Embassy of the Republic of Fiji, Tokyo recently visited Akita Prefecture as part of its outreach program, seeking greater engagement with the wider Japanese society. While in Akita, Charge d`Affaires Kelera Savu called on Governor Norihisa SATAKE at the Governor’s Office on 23 June 2022 for courtesies, as well as the Akita City Office and the Akita Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Fiji Community in Akita

While in Akita city, Akita Prefecture, Charge d’Affaires Kelera Savu spent some time today with the Fiji Community in Akita, led by Mr Naivaluwaqa Setareki. A wonderful time of fellowship and sharing about the mission of the Fiji Embassy, consular services, and key areas that would boost socio-economic growth in Fiji – including sports and education sector.

Charge d’Affaires Kelera Savu was one of the presenters at today’s Akita-Fiji Friendship Association General Meeting, which was followed by a business networking and reception in Akita.
